Radiocracy: local radio & democracy
This informal group in partnership with Astra FM, is made up from young people from rural areas of Cyprus, most of whom are involved in communication studies. Astra 92.8 is a private radio broadcasting station whose mission is to enrich people's lives with programmes that inform, educate and entertain. ASTRA was founded with a unique goal: to stand for the progressive and alternative voices in Cyprus’ radio community, providing the audience an alternative to the status quo of talk radio. The group is led by Mike Hajimichael.
Inspiration FM is a community led and managed radio service, providing access, information, entertainment and training. Inspiration FM encourages and promotes a voice for those who are under-represented or socially excluded to provide an outlet for creativity, shared vision and expression. This group is led by Mark Dean.
La Radio des Sorgues, was created in 2010 as a partnership between the Mission Locale du Lubéron and the Communauté des Communes Pays des Sorgues Monts de Vaucluse. This community-based web radio has been developed as an educational tool to help young people between the ages of 18 and 25 years.
Musicalisle is a music association based in Isle sur la Sorgue. Although it’s main activity is teaching music the association frequently puts together projects based on non-formal education and citizenship. Activities of the association include music lessons, concert organization and music based workshops. The project in France is led by Stéphane Sauri.
